A la 24...
If there is something you should know about me is that I love TV.... there are so many great shows and there are lots of bad shows too, but the great thing about TV is that there is a show for all of us... I like some good ones, I like some OK ones, I like some that don't target the average audience and I also like some very silly or dumbs ones because they entertain me...
Tonight was the premier of 24, it's a premier that many people were waiting for, it seems to be a show that appeals to everybody, it has mystery, suspense, action, character driven stories and for those of us that are romantic, Jack Bauer is in love... his wife was killed in S1 and he was lucky to find true love again... (I hope you already have your hankerchiefs out).... OK, all together... snif, snif....
I have to confess, I started watching S1 many years ago and after a couple of episodes I couldn't follow it and in some way found it boring... I know.... but hey, it's what I thought.... but I was still intrigued, I just couldn't catch up with it. Thru the years it has been a show that my friends love and I could never watch... because at that point in time I was following the next silly romantic comedy that would be taken off after a year... and it was airing at the same time... I'm sorry, I confess but I have my weak points... and yes, I watch Gilmore Girls!!!!! it's not all about critically aclaimed shows... although when you are at a "smart" conversations, those are the ones you normally acknowledge that you watch... can you imagine me in a management staff meeting and all the "guys" are talking about the last 24 ep, by the way, the CIA and the President are great fans..., and I come up and say, oh that was good, but also Ugly Betty... that I don't think it would work.... so at the end if I join the conversation, I have good taste, because after all it's OK to watch 24... and if I don't watch and I have heard of it.... then it's still OK, because I'm not caught in the TV world but I still know what's going on... I'm a smart girl... anything except commenting about the last Ugly Betty episode... although suprisingly, more and more men today are acknowleding that they watch Grey's Anatomy... even President Clinton mentioned the other day in an interview that his favorite shows were 24 and GA.... way to go Clin!!!! you rock!!!!
Now I ask, why is tv as entertainment not socially aceptable, why if you watch tv you have to be this strange weird person... but if by chance, you are into "football" and you stay home and watch every night all the games plus any sport then WOW, you are cool... but if you spend the same amount of time watching, plain entertainment tv... you are either a freak, or a geek.... aka, don't have a life.... I do have a life and I just happen to include tv in mine....
As for 24... I only watched so far the first hour... it was great.... I didn't have the time to watch before, so I'm glad that I can now DVR and enjoy the ride, I happened to catch a Marathon during the summer, it was airing, I think 2 episodes every week or something like that and I watched S5, OMG, it was great... so if it was possible I was not going to miss S6... by the way, thank God for DVRs, although it brings ratings down.... but what can we do, in today's world, there is nothing more convienient than to be able to watch tv, whenever you want and there are so many options... Live! DVR or Tivo! Online at whatevernetwork.com, iTunes and that are the legal ways, you can also go to youtube.com and most probably you will find the episode of your tv show uploaded and that is just one source... and I'm really sorry, that it hurst the ratings again... my favorite TV show was canceled supposdly because of this... I DVR everything I watch... but I promise I will still by the DVDs.... and well, going back again to 24, it was great... so far Jack came back from China were he was being held captive because he was to be traded off in order to stop some terrorist attacks in the US a la Austin... ( I told you that could happen, see below) he had given up... and didn't care that he was going to die.... because as he said, dying in China ment that he was dying for nothing, being traded by his friends to save the country ment that he would die for something... and he didn't care about his life anymore... that is.... of course... until he found out that he WAS going to die for nothing (I'm not giving the plot away) and our Jack Bauer came to life!!!! Yeaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa, I'm ready for the drive!
Oh and there was another thing... there was this scene were in a Wisteria Lane like neighborhood the FBI arrested a friendly neighbor because he could be involved in the terrorist attacks... you might say, yeah.... that is soooo tv.... but it reminds me of a friend, a good neighbor, I was tutoring his girls.... and suddenly I read in the news that he arrested because he was a top wanted Interpol Drug Lord in Europe and he was living just next door in my little neighborhood in Venezuela.... that was a real shocker.... and as my Mum would say, don't trust anybody... of course I don't listen to her, but just in case.... you might have the opportunity again to say... you see! I told you! don't trust anybody....

Although, blogging seem's to be taking over as the new SG-1 in my life. Sad, but true. Still, Sam loves me and understands; she said she's wait for me 'casue I'm special to her.
